Inspection and Test Plans
Quality planned in before work starts — not checked in at the end.
Quality planned in before work starts — not checked in at the end.
An inspection and test plan (ITP) sets out, before work begins, exactly what will be checked, when, by whom, against which standard, and what evidence will be kept. It is agreed with the client up front, so everyone knows what "right" looks like before anyone picks up a tool.
| Element | What it means |
|---|---|
| Hold points | Work stops until the inspection is passed and signed off |
| Witness points | The client is invited to observe the check |
| Acceptance criteria | The measurable standard each check is judged against |
| Records | Signed checks, photos and measurements, kept for handback |
| Non-conformance | Anything that fails is logged, corrected and re-inspected |
Proportionate inspection.
Evidence at every stage.
ITPs feed directly into handback with evidence and sit within our Quality, Delivery Assurance and Continuous Improvement policy (POL-008).
